Please check the event website before attending, to verify the details and make sure there's no change.

May 26, 2018 @ 2:30 pm

Free

Kids ages 9-17 are invited to join us at Hopewell Lake for a fun nature program. DiscoverE combines outdoor exploration, with outdoor skills building, and hands on experiences. This class is specifically designed for older children to develop the skills necessary to become better birders.

Birding is a hobby shared by many outdoor enthusiasts worldwide, but often new birders are unsure where to start. In this class we will learn about bird biology, understand where to look for birds, practice using both binoculars and field guides, and go on a short birding walk as a group to try out our skills. All tools and materials will be provided, but please dress for the weather and the trails. If you have a personal pair of binoculars, feel free to bring them along.

There is a $5 fee per child for this program, collected at the start of the program. Please bring exact change or a check. Because of the equipment based nature of this program it is not suitable for children younger than 9.
