Pop-Up Homeschool Art

Pop-Up Homeschool Art is a series of one-day workshops, taught by different instructors that each focus on a  different technique or medium. Each month has a different theme. Students can sign up for one class, or take as many as they like. Pottery classes are $22 per class. All other classes are $18.

December’s theme is Indigenous Art Month . Class choices are:

  • Aborigines of Australia- Students will discuss the history of the Aboriginal art in Australia and work on creating a dot-style painting inspired by that art. December 6th from 11 am-12:30pm.
  • Native American Indians of the Pacific Northwest- Students will explore the artwork of the many tribes that called this part of the country how. They will then create their own version of a totem pole using recycled materials.Decemeber 12th from 1-2:30pm.
  • Maori of New Zealand- Students will learn about the Maori people of New Zealand and the hei matau, a bone or greenstone carving in the shape of a highly stylized fish hook. Students will each create their own hei matau necklace using polymer clay. December 17 from 1-2:30pm
