Chocolate Mini Workshop

Peter Wentz Farmstead 2030 Shearer Rd, Lansdale

Join us on the last day of the Christmas celebration season for a mini hands-on workshop featuring chocolate with hearth cook Deborah Peterson.  You will help make some 18th-century recipes using chocolate and receive a booklet of yummy recipes to take home with you to make in your own kitchen.For ages 12 and up.

Child’s Play Series: Weaving

Preschoolers will see tools used a long time ago for making yarn and fabric.  The children will then work on their own paper weaving project to take home.Ages 3+.

Learn about our wooly friends, the sheep, and make a wool craft to take home with you.  We will also visit the sheep that live at the site.Ages 3+.

View cooking demonstrations of delicious cake doughnuts and sample the modern versions, too! Come see our smokehouse in action as the Wentz family preps for the chilly weeks ahead.

Child’s Play Series: Meet the Chickens

Preschoolers will learn about our feathered friends with a visit to the chickens that live at the site, helping to collect eggs, and taking home an egg of their own.Ages 3+.  10AM or 1PM

Candlelight Tours

Peter Wentz Farmstead 2030 Shearer Rd, Lansdale

The soft glow of candles will guide you throughout the Farmstead for tours showcasing colonial music, seasonal entertaining, and a visit from Belsnickel, a Pennsylvania German St. Nicholas in furs.(Last tour begins at 8:30pm).
